  3. The Khanguras (from Punjabi, 'phagura') are a gotra of Jats from the Punjab region in mostly India. They are mostly found in the Ludhiana and Kapurthala districts of Punjab, and have accordingly 15-25 villages. They have traditionaly like many Jatts, been farmers. Recently many Khanguras have immigrated to Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and their are a few in New Zealand and Italy. The Khangura clan is almost all adherents of Sikhism.

    Religion

Almost all Khanguras, are exclusively Sikhs. A very small number maybe Hindus. Many Khanguras converted to Sikhism during the time of the 9th and 10th Sikh Gurus. A small number of Khanguras are of the mystic Islamic sect of Sufi. Some very well known Sikh temples are located near villages claimed by the Khanguras, including "Gurdwara Guru Har Rai Sahib" near Phagwara located in Punjab(India)'s Kapurthala district.

  4. My few words supporting Mr. Khangura as a very good candidate for future Punjab CM:

Honesty, integrity, loyalty, proven leadership skills, experience, strong enough to face political challenges. He has demonstrated all these qualities in the last few years whilst being the Qila Raipur constituency MLA. His actions prove that he is fully committed to delivering on his manifesto for his MLA election campaign.

His positive attitude, work ethic and support and respect for young politicians e.g Munish Tewari will help him to recruit new leaders with energy, enthusiasm and a capacity for bringing fresh ideas’ to the role with a drive to work together.

Generally, government services are relaxed and have less emphasis on setting up targets, including measuring and auditing performances of their employees. His experience of managing his own successful businesses will enable him to introduce the best practices used by successful private businesses to improve public sector processes. This will enable him to put in place a stable government overcoming organisational difficulties.

Extremely hard working, he has a responsible vision, brings people together, enabling Congress to enjoy it’s largest rally (in Latala) during the recent Lok Sabha elections.

One of the top most issues for our people in Punjab is corruption at each and every level of public and private sector. He has put in place mechanisms for people to report corruption issues by setting up Save Our Punjab website, and has challenged the present government to remove corruption from the political system.

Respecting law and order, he is following the court processes for the false cases registered against him, and also raises his voice against present government’s failures to implement law and order in the state.

Improving education standards – it is a proven fact that a generation without good / adequate education is a major reason for any country’s economic and socio failure. The Punjab government is misleading their own people by introducing wayward and incorrect policies e.g. ideas of Adarsh schools, all office work to be done in Punjabi, not improving the existing education facilities etc.

Mr Khangura being an ex-student of Oxford university, has already contributed a lot by improving the standard of education for the Narangwal college and by providing CHKM training facilities to students of the Qila Raipur area.

  5. Cont…Working to provide a sustainable economy – starting with the MDVL project.

Transforming the economy by encouraging foreign trade and investment – building capabilities to enable this move

Nationalist, not communalist – recent Lok Sabha elections have proved that there is no place for communalism within the parties in India. This puts him at the front of winning policies.

Experience of politics abroad and in India will enable him to provide the people of Punjab the best of both worlds.

Working with other state leaders, and bringing in the projects already delivered successfully elsewhere

Understanding of problems of people at each level, started his political career in India from MLA level, being very close to normal people who bear the serious impact from government policies and decisions

NRI - Listening to NRI problems, efforts to involve them by challenging the government in power during the NRI conferences in India and abroad to take necessary actions to resolve NRI issues.

Loyalty to his country of birth proved by giving up British citizenship, and serving the people of his country and by starting the MDVL project at his native village

Proved by raising his voice against congress supporters being assaulted by Akali leadership that he would ensure all are treated fairly.

    And

    The list goes on…………..

As has been said on numerous occasions, there is a need for a change to make Punjab a better place to live for all its people. Every change, big or small, is temporary unless the people who are going to be impacted by the change feel this and are willing to be part of the change. To enable this, a lot of well thought and open communication is required. Most people fail on being proactive at establishing positive relationships and providing the latest information to their people.

Mr Khangura has already established a number of communication channels for people in India and abroad, and has been successful in bringing people together by being very responsive, continuing with his communications and by welcoming feedback from his audience. So most of the capabilities are already in place to enable a successful change, however a few more communication channels may be required, to pass on these messages to our local people who don’t have access to the technology.

  6. The hallmark of Jesse's political style are an emphasis on quality deliverables that are managed with high energy and a genuinine concern for impacting Punjab's locals in a positive manner. His work as an Social Enterprenuer at LATALA, Punjab and as a Government legislator has demonstrated that he is strong strategist who looks beyond what "is" to create innovative solutions that propel higher level of performance and results in his constituency. Jesse's passion for his work blended with his social commitments make him an exceptional leader across diverse areas. Those who have the opportunity to work with him are always enriched both personally and professionally.

  10. "Well I'm from Phagorey which now is khangura, near phagwara. So you work in the corrupted world of punjab Politics, to change thepolitics in Punjab you have get badals out of Punjab. Jassi Can not do what punjab should be a great state that can be like california, But the Badals are so corrupted, even more the people who vote for the Badals are more corrupted then the Badals.Recently i wanted to open a huge logistics center in Punjab, every person i talked too wanted kick backs. So now i have moved the project to the Phillapines, So Madam Good luck to your adventure with Jassi MLA, Punjab is the true lion of india, but Badals have turned it into one show. The Khanguras are a gotra of Jats from the Punjab region in mostly India. They are mostly found in the Ludhiana and Kapurthala districts of Punjab, and have accordingly 15-25 villages. They have traditionally, like many Jatts, been farmers. 14. @ Anonymous Mr Khangura is the hope of the Punjab youth and the NRI diaspora. A motivated, hardworking and dedicated individual who strives to help the Punjabi progress and prosper and overcome hurdles and difficulties. The list of his successful projects in endless and in this world of sham and corrupt politics. he is one person who is not there for personal gain but to serve the people. To any people who write counterfactual and fallicious and untruthful remarks about him, what can I say, only empty vessels make the most noise. Especially to the anonymous person who wrote on 14th May, you have no substance to your argument, his work is clearly speaking if not shouting out loud about his remarkable achievements, just google his name.

He is my role model and I salute him for his service to his country. Sheer dedication and commitment to strive to work for a clean, educated, corruption free Punjab. He truly deserves a standing ovation.
